The Dumfries and Galloway Wellness and Recovery College (Course Guide)
The Dumfries and Galloway Wellness and Recovery College, is a local initiative that delivers a range of wellness and recovery focussed learning and development opportunities. Courses will provide students with a range of learning opportunities, these may include:
- Learning skills and strategies to cope with challenging times, for example in relation to change and loss
- Strengthening personal coping skills
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships
- Helping to understand personal responses to situations
Courses vary in content and length. You may be interested in signing up for just one course or more.

A 10 week block of Art
Therapy with a trained art therapist, will start on the 21st of January from
2.00- 4.00pm at Dalbeattie Fire Station.
You don't have to be good at
art to attend. Explore your emotions and feelings and move forward with more
personal insight and awareness.

Six week Self Management
Programme run in partnership with Arthritis Care will be held at Castle Douglas
Community Centre from 10.30-12.30am.
This programme is for anyone
with a long term/chronic health condition and is person-centred. It will cover
topics such as:
Effective communication
Pain management
Activity and exercise
Finances and managing change
