Dalbeattie Craft Group

On the 24^th October the members of the craft group set off to spend the day at the Hobbycraft show at the SECC. Lots of shopping took place, a great day was had by all and everyone was inspired to try some new crafts.

The craft group has been working on their Christmas cards and decorations and Toby been showing them how to make Christmas trees

Welcome to Stewartry Self Management Programme

Self Management Programme (SMP) has been established in five different areas in Dumfries and Galloway in 2012.
The programme is part of Building Healthy Communities and is supported through the Change Fund Programme ‘Putting You First’.
It focuses on individuals approaching older age 50+, those living with long term conditions and carers. Self-Management is a term used to describe better management of circumstances or health issues by individuals themselves.

Healthy Connections Stewartry

Healthy Connections Stewartry is a project currently working within two GP Practices; Dalbeattie Clinic and Castle Douglas Medical Group. The project links those 18 years and over attending GP consultations, in particular, individuals with long-term conditions and those with mild to moderate depression and anxiety with wider supports and services within the local community to improve health outcomes. Some examples of activities available are art activities, low level physical activity, exercise on referral, employability and financial advice, volunteeering opportunities, self management courses, lifelong learning, healthy reading catalogue and the listening service.
