“I Could Eat A Horse”

The Glenkens cooking group were chosen by the theatre company ‘A Moment’s Peace’ to represent Dumfries & Galloway along with Dumfries High School and Gatehouse Primary.

I Could Eat A Horse is a multi-artform project exploring the diverse relationships that individuals and communities have with food and the food industry. It investigates personal choices around food consumption to examining who is in control of our access to food.

The theatre company worked with the three groups in Dumfries & Galloway and three groups in each of Aberdeenshire, Edinburgh and Glasgow, producing 12 short films. Wednesday saw the first local screening at the Catstrand in New Galloway alongside an interactive event which provoked debate amongst the audience.

The Glenkens group thoroughly enjoyed the experience and created a wonderful film which promoted ‘growing old disgracefully’.
